The Association of Lipspeakers
The Association of Lipspeakers (ALS) is the professional body that represents lipspeakers. A lipspeaker is a hearing person trained to repeat a speaker's message to lipreaders accurately, without using their voice.

Deafness Research UK (previously Defeating Deafness; also known as the Hearing Research Trust) is the medical charity for deaf and hard of hearing people. Supported entirely by voluntary contributions, Deafness Research UK aims to:
- support high quality medical and scientific research, which meet the needs of hearing impaired people and the research community.
- educate people about medical issues relating to deafness and other hearing problems, offering information and advice based upon the most up-to-date and reliable evidence available.

Hearing Concern is a national charity which helps deaf and hard of hearing people to combat the isolation of hearing loss through support, advice and information.

The LINK Centre is a national UK organisation for deafened men and women - people who have grown up with normal or near-normal hearing, then become severely or totally deaf in adult life. It was set up in 1972 and provides the only national resource in the UK to offer specialist rehabilitation for deafened people. LINK helps people adjust to deafness in everyday living through rehabilitation and life skills programmes, trains health care professionals in acquired deafness, and conducts research that will advance the understanding of this type of deafness.Our services are open to all deafened people, including people with cochlear implants, and their families.
